Next time She has that sad sound in her voice, let her know you’ll come home right now if she wants. She’s more important than any Job. It’s her choice. I already know the answer. I think you do too. Any more whining, mention your thinking about getting a new Dog for the Truck, a little bit younger and not quite as heavy as the one at home.

Get your license and then start applying locally if that’s what you want to do.

Oh, puulleeze, get confident, man.
You think YOU have it rough today, years ago, it was a phone call from a pay phone once a day. Before social media, or cell phones, or this great site, it was a different world. I told the ex, if you don't hear from me for 24 hours, call the cops. I'm not a dog fan, but by all means, take the mutt with you. They offer unconditional love, something that the GF might not going 6 hours across Nebraska. Trucking is rough, cost me a lot ( home, marriage, family, house) and knowing that now, I never would have got into a marriage whilst driving a truck. And another thing, you might think bringing the GF along might work,,,trust me, in 99% of the cases, it doesn't.

When I got in the truck when I started I was more than happy to get the #@#@ outa there.. the only commitment I had was a truck payment and getting my loads safely to their destinations..
It was just pay phones back then ..I would walk past the line of phones in truck stops sometimes at night and there would be grown men on the phones wanting to cry because they were homesick and talking to their wife, GF , kids etc etc. Sometimes sitting in a booth eating I would over hear others talking to their wife or kids and some of the issues or problems that they were having.. it made me feel good about only having to worry about making my payment and how I never wanted to have a family ..
Sometimes they would get off the ph and call their dispatcher right away and ask to go to the house or find somebody to finish their load so they could haul ### to the house.. It was so entertaining to listen too
Most the time I would laugh to myself once in a while I would feel bad for 1 of them because even Ray Charles could see the out come .. I learned things from listening to alot of those booth ph conversions..
1... I would never ever haul anything that didn't walk on my wagon
2...truck drivers can lie really good
3... Dispatchers can also lie very well and really don't care about much of anything...
4....I never ever would put myself in a postion to be in a relationship.
5 ...You better have your $#@! wired right and keep your head in the game otherwise your just not gonna make it
6.. And most important of all the power of a woman's voice is unbeliable !!!!!! It can move a mountainThe Crossword Trucker and Lumper Humper Thank this.
