Doesn't the bank have mobile deposit?

You open your bank app. Take pic of check and hit submit for deposit.

    wa la

Never having to make contact with the bank.

Well if the broker is paying on that check, they will give you a check with a certified number on it that is tied to that check number only, then the bank will have to call and confirm the check which they will write the number they get from comdata, then treat it like a bank draft. My bank will not deposit it as a check, they will literally hand me cash and I have to actually deposit it in my account.

SoCalKid and Bean Jr. Thank this.

So I should call in personally and get the authorization number or do I have the teller do that?

You do not know if the check is valid without it. Call it in asap. Do not wait for teller.

I’m currently banking with US Bank (awful!), and I definitely have mobile check deposit capabilities. I’m just not sure if a ComCheck would work the same as a regular check

Awesome! Thank you for this clarification. I am assuming the teller will also be calling to confirm the funds?

Not normally. They process as a normal check. Because it is.

I never seen a authorized check fail in 22 years. Like I said. If you have authorization code. The mofo is as good as cash. Any bank will cash it.

My carrier pays onto my comdata card. Until about 2 years ago, I would register a comcheck, then deposit into my business account. As I wasn't concerned about a phoney express code, I would allow the teller authorize the check. That was if I registered thr check in line at the bank. The last couple months before I used the app to direct deposit it, I would do it at home. So I would authorize it myself.

    SoCalKid Thanks this.

You can call for the auth code or the bank teller can call. The com check will have to clear like a regular check before you can access the $$$. And yes, some tellers get confused processing this deposit. But just snap your fingers for a manager to come over and he will get you thru it !
