I just had new drums, brakes, springs and bushings put on my trailer. One of my brakes is not releasing and dragging. If I step on the brake it sticks. It looks like the rod that is attached to the S cam and slack adjuster needs new bushings.

I need to disable that brake chamber and don't know how. I tried backing off the slack adjuster but since the brakes and drums are new there is no room to back it off.

I spent an hour outside trying to take the clevis off the rod. I got the cotter pin out but I can't budge the pin?

Since I'm empty that dragging brake is real bad! Any ideas?

Almost sounds like they cut the rod to short. You should be able to back them off.
Should be a cage bolt on side of can, insert in the hole in the can and tighten down

T- bolt in the side of the chamber? Or if you have one in your toolbox it will help.

T-Bolt? Cage bolt? Not sure what that is? Is that the rod they stick down the chamber? Is there a nut on it? Never done this before. I'm at the Loves in Bennett, CO and they don't have a clue.

It has little ears on it. When you get a new brake chamber you can get it off easy. Stick the end with the ears into the inspection port on the can. Push in and half twist to engage. (You'll feel it: it's like a keyway) then take the nut that's on the caging bolt, and tighten it down opening the chamber up.

Ok. So tightening that rod will release the brake and keep it off? Keep in mind there is like 1/4" of play on the slack adjuster.

Thanks! Looks simple enough. Although. I got the bright idea to take the covers off my air horns and paint them. One screw broke off in the hole. That ended up being a whole day affair trying to drill out the screw. I was going to use an EZ Out so I drilled a small hole into the screw. The drill broke off. This is how many of my simple tasks turn into a major ordeal.
