Teflon tape is what I call pipe dope, guess we used a slang name for it where I grew up. Yes, Teflon tape or thread sealer is a more technical name.

I am planning on trying to drain the tanks in the morning. If for some reason I break or replace the valves, would I remove the air pressure by stepping on the brakes multiple times?

IF you break a valve the system will drain quickly, watch out for debris flying into your face. If you can't get the valves to open and have to replace them, yes I would pump down the brakes to drain the system. It would be safer then just trying to unscrew the valve while the tank is pressurized.

So I emptied all three tanks by using WD40 and turning the valves using a wrench. No issues. The truck has been sitting for 5 days so it didn't seem like alot of air pressure. Not much moisture so I started it up and got the pressure up again. The first tank didn't seem to fill up. There is a pull cord that goes to the back. I didn't climb under since I has a appointment with a attorney for our other business. What is each tank for? And is that normal that there was not that much moisture in the tanks. I just put 8000 miles on it. I bought it in South Dakota at a Volvo Dealership. Any advice for this inexperienced rookie would be great.

If the air dryer is working you shouldn't be getting much moisture when you drain the tanks

    Jeck and brian991219 Thank this.

The truck I drive now, it had 174K miles on it, when I took it over.. The air dryer worked no problem.. But the idiots who drove it before, never opened up the drain valves.. It took about over a week to get all the moisture and oil out of the tanks.. Yes it had moisture, and after that never had another issue, and it now has almost 400K on it.
