Go as often as you want. Just make sure you can park there legally. Some Walmarts are ok with truck parking and some will call a tow service to drag your truck off while you're inside shopping.
Watch for truck parking signs and other trucks parked there. If nothing else, park at a truckstop and call Uber for a Walmart run.

That can work out just not unsure how much free time you have while on the road.

You'll have plenty of free time during mandatory breaks and 34 hr. restarts.

How does that work out? I know you can drive 11 hours a day out of 14 hours and have to take 10 hours off 8 of those hours have to be sleeping. That and you have your 70 hour clock for 7 or 8 days not sure and after that you take your 34 hour reset?

DON'T count on having half of the cooler space in a trainer's truck.

Or you could just eat the salt direct from the salt shaker. Anything that is canned in small "ready-to-go" servings is going to be outrageously expensive for what you get. Eat instant oatmeal, some fruit, and water. It's boring & cheap and you will not overeat. Peanut butter, pork and beans. Remember you don't have to feel like you just finished Thanksgiving after every meal, but on;y to end the gnawing hunger in your stomach. You need less food while driving than when home. Just because half the drivers are in a race and think high-score wins doesn't mean you have to do that too. You are in charge of you. Getting fat isn't a dirty trick someone sneaks up and does to you. You do it to you. Don't do it.

    Exactly.

But if you have a good trainer you may be able to eat the same things to save some space.

Bottom line is this - while training you won't have the freedom to pick and choose. You make do with what you have.
And most times, that isn't very much.
So you get through the training process and get into your own truck as soon as possible.

And never forget... Teaming is just as bad as training in that aspect.

A lot depends on the trainer. The first one I got was an a...hole l/o who only trained to make the truck payment. That lasted less than two weeks. My second trainer was retired military (nothing exciting, worked in the motor pool.) and he was awesome. We talked for a bit at the yard about expectations and the like. I stowed my stuff, and we hoped in his pov and went to the grocery store. Found stuff we both liked went back and stuffed it in the truck. Took off that evening and although he did like to stop for fast food / restaurant more than me, he helped with the cost near the end of the week.
