    I have to ask why?

I thought all these new drivers were earning what veterans earned, there is no need for experience, instant big bucks.

That's after they get their own truck. Still tight while in training.

    Tight?

    Seriously money management.

you can live on $10 a day, not $10 a meal.

I ate alot of canned tuna and canned mandarin oranges for dinner. Sounds like a bad combo but it hit the spot. My trainer had a little bitty cooler, when I got away from him, we got one of those big coleman coolers and kept stuff in.

Now, I have a smaller cooler and take lunch meat, canned stuff, beef jerky, trail mix, nuke bin beans and rice and usually a pound of brisket or tamales. Youll figure it out, my poor co-driver, he tried to keep stuff on the truck but he dint know what to buy and threw away alot of it.

Just fyi, styrofoam releases known carcinogens when microwaved . Might want to start having your kids heat the water in a glass container and put it into the noodle cup instead of nuking the styrofoam cup.

Huge selection at walmart. From breakfast scrambles to various dinner entrees. They run about $2 each so you could have 4 a day for less than $10. Your sodium intake will be through the roof, but its only temporary, right?.

Truckstop subways have 3 or 4 footlong selections in the $6 range when you want a break.

I have one of those uncle bens microwave rices nearly everyday. Add a $1 can of black or pinto beans and i am stuffed for $3. The plain white rice ones are pretty healthy too as far as sodium etc.

If you can go to Walmart, pick up a couple packages of the meal replacement shakes that you get in the pharmacy area. They're designed for weight loss, but they're quick and easy to eat/drink. If you have room in the cooler, throw one or two in there everyday. Also, granola bars, mini muffins, individual chips or rice cakes, fruit cup, fruit snacks, trail mix, instant oatmeal cups, Velveeta shells and cheese cups. (they use a cheese paste, rather than powder)
Pick up 8pks of pop and Powerade, to avoid truck stop refills. String cheese is another good snack on the go. Helps offset the digestive effects of coffee, too.
