    Hi!

I have been trucking for 8 years and finally have an LTL job where I can make enough money part time to pay the bills and free up time to build income generating websites.

I will only be working three days a week at my trucking job and 1 day a week as a sole proprietor, so i will be well below the 70/80 rule.

I am a 100 mile radius driver most of the time but do occasionally go out of that radius.

Logbooks have you fill out CARRIER INFO in them but how do u use one logbook when you have different "carriers" (or in my case one carrier and than my self employment)?

I want to be DOT compliant and would very much appreciate it if anyone who has driven a truck for one carrier while also having a second job or self employment would offer me some advice.

    Thanks!

-Matt (a Local Trucker and Soon to Be WebPreneur (Web Entreprenuer)).

Time at your non driving job must be logged as line 4 "on duty, not driving". You must have a 10 hr break after you finish working at your non-driving job before you can drive again.

if you do any driving in a 7 or 8 day period you must show all hours worked not driving or driving on a log book,
