    Hi,

I am just getting into the long haul business and am looking for tips on finding good truck stops. I am excited to get out on the road, but don't think I can eat burgers 3x a day.

Thanks for helping a new driver

Man, that is a very difficult question. To me a good truck stop is one that has parking when and where I need it. Food is down the list. Basically, what you need is a list but unfortunately that list is personal and one you will have to make on your own.

Many truckstops have restaurants nearby, some are very close to grocery stores. Subway is probably the most popular in store restaurant so you don't have to eat burgers.

Its a roll of the dice where the good trkstops are. Most are the same ole same ole.I would recommend staying at service plazas if possible. Most toll roads have them like interstate 80 cant remember where the toll starts.

These days I'm starting to think a good truck stop is an oxymoron.

When planning your trip you can use Google maps for reviews on truckstops, restaurants, grocery stores nearby. Also use the satellite view which can be very helpful in finding parking spots.
If you can prepare meals in your truck that can help kick the burger habit.

The trick isn't finding "good truck stops" it's finding places to eat where you can park near by and also having the time to browse around for the right meal.

I'm not a huge fan of the state of Ohio, but they have some kick butt service plazas. Good tip for a new driver.

Define good. You might hate my favorite truck stops or you might love my favorite truck stops depending on what your likes and dislikes are.
