No..not looking for money or ride home. Now that I've had a reply I would be happy to give more information . If anyone lately has been in same shoes. It's a catch 22. Problem..can't catch a break on using a truck to finish test. Went to all local companies..they see my driving record as excellent, no criminal history, want to hire but have to have CDL first..well of course. Either the truck won't pass inspection, engine blows or can't get on day of test. Have rescheduled numerous times. I realize im just a stranger here. At this point trying anything.

Go down to the Petro at exit 12 on 285 and look for an O/O that looks hard up for cash and offer him a couple hundred bucks to drive you over to the dmv and let you take the test in his truck.

I was somewhat confused by your Bio line of trucker for 32 years?

Ok, well you cannot rent a truck/trailer unless you already have a CDL, and even then, most places like Ryder, Penske, DO NOT rent to individuals, only to companies. What you could do is try the local Craig's List ads for "services needed (or wanted)". There may be an o/o off work for vacation or off for the winter season, and he/she may be of some help?
