Friend at YRC has "free" coverage . But is making 2600$ less a month . That "free" coverage is is coming at a great cost . Say that is a huge cost .

Lol, 2600? Add one too many zeros? Their 15% concessions suck, but NOT 650 a week suck.

That's if before they lost the 15% they were on equal footing . That 2600 is correct . So yes I have no problem paying for my share of insurance . And pay into the 401 .

What's your mileage rate or who do you work for? $2600 a moth seems far fetched.

Also YRC is always used as the poster child for union companies when non union drivers want to compare non vs union. They are in the worst shape. There are tons of non union companies that are way worse than YRC.

As far as I know top rate at YRC is .54. They start drivers out at .46
    That's with the 15% giveback.

Oh well that's just not a fair comparison.
With a similar bid....miles wise it's not that big of a difference. Especially when you add your insurance premiums. Then all the other things they get paid for like delays etc.
In certain circumstances they will have an edge over you in total compensation.

Funny how, years ago, the ones who claimed, "I almost make what a union guy does..." seem to take the most pleasure in the demise of YRC. It's a shame actually, all that has been accomplished is the industry standards have been driven down. In theory, everyone should be making .60+ cpm with free insurance and retirement.

*Disclaimer - I don't particularly care if a person works non union or union as long as the facts are stated correctly. As a driver, I want what's best for the whole industry.
