A friend of mine in PA, said DOT came and dipped all the tanks at a hay auction he was at recently. His truck passed, but he said a solid half of the guys there ended up with citations. Spent their hay money before they even had it!

 

Here in Iowa & other states they like to target a agriculture related business or gatherings like auctions because they know their found a target rich environment
Iowa I've seen them check tanks on trucks parked along side the roads at farm auctions
I've got a 09 Chevy HD2500 that I use as a work truck it's got a 6.0 gas burner but I put Duramax badges on it just to F with the DOT they've run the stick down the tank on it before and stand there with that normal stupid look on their faces when they pull the stick out

 

Using off road diesel for public road use, is Tax Evasion. It should be prosecuted. Evading the tax that should be paid to improve our roads.

Collecting the tax and the government using it for road improvement is another debate.
