I only have about 2 working slideouts on my trailer ... They were all working when i bought my trailer earlier this year.. But covered in crap and corrosion I guess because I havemt used them yet... U guys have any techniques for getting them unstuck or do i just chalk it up to a loss? I got a couple freed up with 2 bottles of liquid wrench and a pry bar and winch bar but there an absolute pain in the dick. To get them to slide with any consitency. Its like wrestling a frickin alligator

Use coke to soak them overnight to break up the rust then powerwash so the acid in the coke doesnt make it worse and to de stickify them. Then use a can of penetrateing oil wait overnight again while reapplying every 2 or 3 hours and once they are out do the same in the extended position and regrease them. That SHOULD make them useable if they are salvageable. However i havent used them much so someone with more experince may have a better idea.

What do they look like in the extended position... What are they made of? Steel?

Im not sure how to get anything liquid in there... I have tried lots of penetrating oil... But i think the problem is they sit in a sleeve inside the trailer so all that crap gets in there... And doesnt provide any access to where the slide out goes into..cke, FerrissWheel and Oxbow Thank this.

Once you get them moving can they be removed to clean the inside of the sleeve??cke, FerrissWheel, InTooDeep and 2 others Thank this.

Ohhhhh you have that style. Put a pair of tow straps into the holes or if you cant get between the holes put a hook of some sort in to give equal pressure and give them a yoink with a car. Once their out powerwash the ever living #### out of them pref with steam then coat them in a heavy duty rust remover. After that you then stick some 5th wheel grease into the rails and wiggle untill they move freely. Least thats how my uncle unfreezes his if its been sitting a while.cke, FerrissWheel, gentleroger and 5 others Thank this.

Im not exactly sure . i assume they can be removed. I will give it a try. This is what it looks like under the trailer. The yellow part next to the crossmember is the sleeve they fit into.
This isnt my trailer, but same thing. This is what they look like extended. There is a spring loaded pin that hold them in and holes drilled on side of the pullout to hold it in place. They are aluminum and the sleeve is steel. So i think this contributes to the corrosion inside

I will give this a try tomorrow and report back my findings . hopefully i can get them to workcke, FerrissWheel, InTooDeep and 2 others Thank this.
