Ok... Yeah aluminium and steel DO NOT like each other at all, It's on a molecular level. I cant remember which, but one will give up an electron easier than the other. This means that as long as the 2 are in contact the one that easily gives up the electron will corrode at an accelerated rate, while the other barely corrodes at all. Id bet the sleeve is packed full of corrosion oxide and road grit.
If you can get them apart to clean the sleeves out I would definetally do so. And grease the ever living #### out of EVERYTHING before reassembling.

I’ve had similar issues with sliders, I’ve found that using oil base on these will only hold the road grime and oxygenation in as a mess. Water from the hose or pressure washer has done better for me, if you can get it to move just a little, you got it whipped.keep washing and wiggle.

I used a strap and a chain and a ratchet binder connected to a steel pole in a truck stop. Chain connected around the pole close to the ground.cke, FerrissWheel, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.

Do u use grease or any type of lube on them after cleaning or no? I assume they probably need to be cleaned out a couple times a year to stay in working shape? This is my first rgn so im still learning the quirks of itcke, FerrissWheel, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.

This is another place to use a light coat of 80/20 mix of beeswax and mineral oil. It sticks on, lubricates and does not hold dirt. Put it in an empty tin can in a pot of boiling water and stir when melted. When it cools you have a cake of lube to rub over everything about at least every 2nd time you extend your pullouts before you close them. A quick rub top and bottom on each rail is all it takes.cke, Magoo1968, FerrissWheel and 9 others Thank this.

When you get tension on it,try tapping it with a sledgehammer.
Sometimes that will help free them up.
We had a brand new landoll that we couldn't get the front 2 slide-outs to budge.
Turns out they missed the crossmembers when they screwed the deck down and and hit the slide outs instead.
Nice quality control. Lolcke, FerrissWheel, kylefitzy and 5 others Thank this. -
I would do the aforementioned but hitting with a sledge hammer always works for me.

I'd try knocking in in towards the middle of the trailer a few times to break the bond. Then yank them out with a chain and binder. Clean the aluminum and spray or brush on a coat or 2 of SlipPlate or similar graphite paint.
FerrissWheel and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
