Even if you're in the right lane on a freeway, still check your passenger mirror. Don't assume nothing will happen over there since there is no traffic lane. I've had a few bozos pass me on the shoulder.

Wait til you can pick 1 car out of a dozen and tell what he's fixing to do. Plus it's really impressive if have a non trucker in passenger seat. Lol

I was fine until they put me on a hill big enough to matter.

A few months of that turned me in to a monster. No more problems with hills.

Instructor took me driving today and I did much better than last time thanks to you guys. my instructor told me we will hit the highway this week. The scary part of the high is when a trucker have to come through a exit to merge into the 3 lane highway and no one will move over

    ladr Thanks this.

Find a big space and drive in a figure 8 for a bit. Than go drive until your eyes feel like burning sandpaper.

Remember, vehicles on the ramp have to yield to YOU. Many 4 wheelers don't get that, and you are under no obligation to move over. You may get the horn or the salute, but too bad. Now, if you see a truck getting on, I'd do my best to let them in, even if I had to slow down. Best advice, stay in the middle lane, even if it's stopped. It's just a lot easier. Moving over requires an easy, slow, signal flashing lane change. No sudden moves, that's what pisses people off. They are going to try their darndest to get by you, but if you have half a lane, with signal flashing, eventually, they give up.
