Dread? Like a trip to the dentist? Like bad news about a family member? What makes it so bad?

average trip to the license branch:

wait in the check in line for an hour and a half

get to the check in line and get treated like ****

sit and wait for your number to be called in a crowded waiting area for another hour

get the priviledge to talk to yet another rude and incompetent government employee for 15 minutes, pay fees

    leave

He most likely got his hazmat before the fingerprint/background checks--therefore it dont renew till CDL renews. I am also in this same boat--I got my hazmats before they did the fingerprints/background checks and mine is good till my renewal. That is when the "fun" begins. LOL

AT good post but I did my haz mat test at the time I renewed my CDL just like always..even though I didn't have the background check yet. This was when background/fingerprint came into existence. After I did the fingerprint background check and got clearance ( two and a half weeks later) I went back to the Caldwell Co DMV and had the endorsement added without having to do the haz mat test over. Also the Sergeant at that DMV told me there was three different haz mat tests that can be given, there is not just one single test. He said that would be too easy to memorize like that. It was set up by the state to be that way. The next time you haz test you will most likely do a different test than the first one. :smt001

Do you also have to go to a terrorist class to get your hazmat endorsement.
