How to jump this starter in picture

    Hi all

    As you can see in this pic. This is a starter with 3 bolts showing. If i were to jump starter because solenoid wire broke. Which 2 bolts do I need to touch together with a screw driver or vice grips to get it going in emergency. thanks 2016 columbia

    You're bypassing the solenoid. Read up how one works. You're just activating it manually instead of using the switch/exciter wire. Be ready for a good fireworks show and make sure you're not grounded.

    Make sure it's in neutral. I knew of a farmer that jumped the starter and got ran over.

    Yeah and don't use anything flammable to clean the posts before touching anything to it. It tends to catch fire :D

    I used ether on a farm tractor starter and once it sparked the dang thing caught fire.
