Yes i need some tips. Sometimes my gps (which sucks) tells me to turn down roads thats not met for a truck and some of these roads dont have a no truck sign. Do any body have any tips on this situation specially being new to the area and when its dark outside.

Yes, pull to the side of the road, check your atlas or Google maps for a bigger road. Since you are new ask your dispatch to not send you Northeast for a while.
P.S. Old truckers who will say real drivers don't need gps please...just pass by.

Look on google maps for the location of your delivery. From there build your own route. Just use the gps as a tool to watch where exactly you are on the map. I find they are not the easiest to program exactly the route you want to take. Try to do this well before you get close to your delivery, at the start of the day you will be delivering is a good time to do it.

Buy a good tablet and get Copilot app, set up freeways and big roads to strongly favored and you are good to go. Recalculates very quickly

Oh and before you drive always compare gps route to google maps route. Also always check Google satellite for streets and location of your destination

    Gerald1987 Thanks this.
