Glad to see you are smarter than teams of OEM engineers and I am sure you have tested all your methods to ensure EPA compliance. Fuel atomization and how the the droplets burn in zones and layers plays greater role in emissions than 5-10 degree of coolant temp. If it was only as simple as you state.

Pole says he did and I trust him so I’m just out of touch. Admittedly I have pretty much always been in special niches of trucking but pulling a hopper in my early days if we got 6 it was a good day. Of course fuel almost seemed free compared to today.

I used to get 6mpg running between Eastern Pa an N.H. and knock down 7mpg if I ran down towards MD. That was pulling a flat around 78-80k. '95 T800 KW,435hp 1650 tq N-14, 13sp, 24.5 rubber,4:11 rears. Drove fairly hard too!

Pre - egr/dpf electronically injected engines is believable, but I was lucky to see high fives pulling reefer @ 80k plus in the west with mechanical engines. Quarterly avg. usually mid fives.

That will be enough name calling. Given the spouting you’ve done here thus far, you can consider this your only warning.

If you worry about fuel economy, you're probably working too cheap ;)
