In this industry you have to do something bad to get fired. Most quit before they get the chance to fire.Companies do force drivers to quit with low miles and pay which is a bad combination. The complaining of the drivers only makes it much worse.I can't blame the drivers because they have bills to pay, family to support ect.So the complaining is legitimate..So with that said I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you have a bad preventable accident.

key rules to follow for any job.

    1. don't complain about miles or finances. your problems are not there problems.

    2. don't share any personal information with any one you work with.

    3. don't talk about what you have or where you live. people become envious over life styles and material things.
    4. never ever discuss pay with any one. every driver make different amounts of money. envy and jealousy will set in.
    5. never talk about or discuss where you are loaded for. others may have shorter loads that don't pay as well.
    6. don't hang out with other company drivers for the same company.

    7. don't ever give out your truck number or driver id number to another driver for the same company. you have no idea what will happen to you from other drivers. major fleet company truck have 1 to 3 key codes for all the trucks. so while you in the terminal taking care of business. another driver you think you can trust. is in your truck robbing you. another reason. there are drivers that are bullies. and they get off on chasing drivers off. and they will stop at nothing. I have seen where bullying drivers have chased their targeted driver to every point in the country. most of the time the bullying driver has been with the company. and either the disbatcher doesn't know. or they are in on it. they next to never get caught in the act of bullying. and when they do get caught. there nothing much that can be done. because bullying and mobbing isn't illegal. it's just really expensive for both the companies and society. for trucking for major trucking companies it's 2.3 million a year lost in profits. these bullies or drivers think they are helping the company. when actually they are hurting the company.

    8. you have to remember that just as you are starting out. disbatchers are staring out. a good the to remember. the young ones aren't as serous about the job as the older more experienced people. most trucking companies will reasign drivers to a new disbatcher.
    9. learn to plan home time 3 weeks in advance. most drivers normally put in for hometime a couple of days after coming from home.
    10. last but not least. don't pick fights with people that can damage your career. and know which fights you can win.
