I suppose it depends on your credit what your options will be. Better credit, better terms and higher daily limits, bad credit = bad terms, low limits, and fewer options. Whatever you end up with be prepared to pay the balance every 2-3 days. Comdata is the industry norm but there are a number of others catering to small and solo fleets exclusively.

Is the OP asking about a fuel card that you have to load with money - comdata or one that deducts money out of a bank account or an actual credit card?

Who knows.....

FWIW, I am very happy with Fleet One and NASTC. We have grown from 1 truck to 7 with them over the past year with no hitches.

I have used Comdata, TCH and Fleetone. I would never again use Fleetone. There are others such as EFS and TCheck. All of them operate pretty much the same. Depending on your credit, you can either have a line of credit or put up cash to fund the card. You usually only have about a week to pay the bill. They normally just automatically deduct the money directly from your bank account. As a single truck operation, you may be as well off with a PDCA card from TAB. You can get a couple of cents discount at Pilot and Flying J. All of the fuel cards receive the cash price, as does the PDCA card. The PDCA is a debit card, but they do offer a credit card. The chain truck stops charge an extra fee for using credit. Most charge about $0.06/gallon. I like the reports that TCH offers. It isn't that important unless you have drivers in your truck.
