I just got assigned another truck because my Kenworth t680 has been in the shop for 2 weeks. They’re trying to fix an adaptive cruse fault issue. I was assigned a 2022 Cascadia. And there seems to be no way for me to idle over night. I tried upping the RPM but the truck still shuts off. I am currently bob tail. Are there any other options or am I just SOL? Anyone else have this truck, how do you handle it?

Depends on how the parameters are set. Some will shut down between a certain temp range.
Some are set to shut down by a timer.

If you are Bob tailing back against a curb and release the brakes. Idle up and go to sleep.

There’s a 3 minute timer on it. This sucks. If I put something on the pedal to rev the rpm up to keep the truck going, is that the same as just using cruise control to rev the rpm up? I want to make sure I’m not poisoning myself or anything in a crazy.

I coincidentally brought this piece of metal from my old truck. To this day, I don’t know what it’s for but i used it in the past to bang my tandems when they were stuck. It’s about a foot long and maybe 5-7lbs. I leaned it against the pedal and the rpm is currently idling at 900. It’s been 10 minutes. Am I good to sleep like this? Want to make sure having the pedal constantly engaged isn’t poisoning me or anything.

If this truck has a Qualcomm or messaging system plugged into the truck it is 99% certain it is recording & reporting idle time to the company. To keep idling it may require the RPMs vary during the countdown timer period. I've had some trucks that will shutdown no matter what you do, even while sitting in traffic.

    It won't poison you.
In my last truck the Freightliner dealer set my (out of gear) idle to 875 because of a problem with top end lubrication. It was a directive from Freightliner.
Only at that one dealer, though. It has been in a few times since to both Swift and Freightliner and they turned it back down to around 600.
I guess not everyone gets the memo.

I never had any luck with setting a higher idle propping something on the pedal, because the constant speed was always seen as a standard idle.
But if it works for you, keep quiet about it and enjoy the freedom.

Yea the truck eventually shut down after a while even when putting something on the pedal.

The truck eventually still shut down after about an hour unfortunately.
