There are usually more than one agency that give out these grants. But yes, unfortunately, being unemployed works best, regardless of financial assets.

A credit union should still beat any credit company. I wish more people knew about credit unions.

Is a trucking school training you? If so, you might want to check out what they have to offer. Back when I was in school in 2013, they told us that if we left the company we would be paying full price (about 6k). If we stayed, we get a good discount. I paid my school loan under a year for $3,600. If I needed more time (1-3 years), it would have been $4,200.

Ya I am going to browse around first because I need a school that can work around my schedule which is weekends only since i work 8-5 Mon-Fri. I know there's a school in Fontana that is contracted with CRST but they may not offer weekends, I will check it out.

You will likely be out of luck because these schools are very condensed. The school days take up almost the entire day. You should start submitting your letter of resignation.

Haha I wish I can quit but man I got bills to pay for D: , Most of the weekend classes are from 8-6 Sat and Sun which I don't mind, it is however, a little big longer than the regular classes.

Mega fleet schools finish their classes in 14 days. Soon after, your pay begins while you wait a day or a few for a trainer.

oh yeah i heard about that when you sign on with a company. It's faster because they want you on the road. Most of the private school I contacted are roughly 4 weeks and some even up to 6-8 weeks. But I'm most likely going to stick with the weekend courses for now since I need to pay bills -_-.

I did my CDL school on the weekends. It took 9 weekends. I had bills to pay as well and a full time job. Worked for me.
