I am sitting here on a 34 hour reset and looking like once we drop our load we will be trying to head to Springmo to test out. Before I started this journey I read these board and gained a lot of info. Now as I have tiime to reflect some I have identified a few things that I wish I would have known about to help me be more prepared.
1. We already beat this one to a pulp but make every effort to get your permit before as it makes orientation so much easier. I did this trust me it helps
2. Find a truck stop and park out of the way but with a view of the truck areas. watch how drivers set up for different maneuvers. Watch how the trailer reacts. Not just backing but even in turns. Notice how they set up for turns. How they Slow WAY down.
3. Get on the interstate and drive you 4 wheeler only look for and read EVERY SIGN. You would not believe how many signs that we ignore in our four wheelers that are important. The sign you miss is the one that will cost you.
4. Burn this in your head. 6th is 15mph 7th is 25mph 8th is 35mph 9th is 45 mph
There are surly more but these 4 are things that I cold hae done before I ever got on that dog (the bus)
