Yep I put shorter blades on in the winter too.
The long one's go past the window curve and allow ice to build up easley the tip.

Curved windshields suck. Shorter wipers as others have recommended. This was not a issue when our windshield were flat just like the earth!

I wondered why my 95 wrangler was great at removing snow. Just putting the heat on blast was enough to melt all the snow on the windshield and wipers.

You don't need to go slow for the whole trip. Just long enough to melt the ice off.

Seems like you would loose more time stopping to clean it off. Unless you need to stop for something else.

No I won’t stop to clear ice. I’ll switch over to instrument navigation before I do that.

I carry a water/alcohol mix in a spray bottle, in both the truck and my Jeep.
    works great on ice.

You don't need to "fly blind" either. Just slow down for a bit.... Try it!

That's my experience with 2018/2019 Cascadias. Other than installing a heated washer fluid system or heated wiper blade system, I haven't seen any good solutions. I also have been hearing I should put my sun visors down and run the defrost on high since before Smokey & The Bandit. It doesn't work. Not in any truck I've ever driven.

Well, that's just crazy talk right there. ;-)

I've been pulling the wiper arm off the windshield and letting it spring back and break off the ice. Luckily I haven't had the arm or blade break off, YET.

If I'm parked I spray window cleaner on the windshield, which has methyl alcohol. That melts the ice pretty well. I also carry rubbing alcohol to either spray on the ice, drop into the gladhands.
