i'd not glue it, the next time you have to replace it, if you do not remove all the old rubber, you may not get a perfect seal..that o ring should just pop in place

Just a thought here but I think if that thing quit working I would just throw it away and go buy a new one. Aren't they only $15-$25. My time is worth more to me than screwing around with a o-ring.

Easy to get o-rings out with a hooked dental pick. Cheapos can buy the picks and o-rings at HF, although the mystery metal tips won't hold up to much force. I get better ones at a jewelry maker's supply.
For bearing seals, I like paint can openers. -
For cars you put the nut on the axle and the inner bearing over the nut and down. Gently tug the drum putting the bearing against the nut. Wa La. Bearing and seal pop off. And NO it doesn't ruin the threads or the bearing or the nut.
For trucks. A pry bar works. For pulling seals off. Or put the hub upside down with a round bar against the bearing and a gentle hammer. Obviously with a couple of peices of wood on the outter edge to keep hub off the ground. Again it doesn't ruin the bearing.
