Background: I commute I-35 through central Texas every day for 60 miles through the corridor that is 2 lanes wide. I have a CB and am always up on 19 listening to everything and occasionally transmitting myself. I understand that there are a lot of good drivers out there, and I am always courteous to trucks and give them their space, let them in my lane, don't cut them off, etc. Sometimes, however, I want to slap the #### out of a driver. One in particular really got me this morning.

This guy is a single owner operator company by the name Monykyky Transportation. This idiot drove about 15 miles in the left lane, refusing to get over, and caused an absolutely massive traffic jam going about 45 down the highway. He had more than a few opportunities to get over and let all the cars pass but wouldn't. Instead he continually drove next to other trucks, keeping everyone dangerously locked into the corridor which is mostly construction and therefore has concrete barriers lining both sides. Of course the cars trying to get around him started driving dangerously as well because he was being such a pain in the ###. I literally lost 17 minutes off of my commute this morning because of this #######. He swerved all over the lane. I'm guessing he didn't have a radio or never turned it on because other wise he would gave heard valor of nasty comments.

How do you report a single operator company? And do truckers ever enforce a standard on their fellow drivers? This guy needs to get the hell off the road. I've never been so infuriated before.

My question is, why didn't the driver in the Right lane back out of it a little to let this driver over??? I'd say they both share the blame here. And in construction, was the speed limit 45mph?

Speed limit is 60, though in the left lane nobody follows that. Typically trucks follow the posted and everyone else is usually going 65-70 down the whole highway except in cities.

In tight quarters with two trucks side by side, most likely they both were being cautious. But that's just a guess. They are much bigger than you are and cannot stop on a dime like you can.

Hopefully one of our drivers on the forum will chime in that knows that construction area.

But the fact of the matter is, most truckers will put safety over speed. Something that you need to plan for, especially in construction areas.

There are many times that the construction areas are set up improperly, and it makes it difficult for them to maneuver through them.

Many times they may be worried about a load shifting from a rough area. There are just too many variables to speculate, but suffice it to say, he wasn't out to just ruin your day, I'm sure.

Like BHW said, why didn't the drivers in the right lane slow down a bit so traffic could flow? And how did you lose 17 minutes? Was this going on for over an hour??

I should clarify that the construction area really isn't that big of a deal. They mostly work at night and most of the "safety" areas for the construction are actually just open parts that really don't need to be 60 mph. They usually don't change the safety sections when the construction has moved from the area.

This guy also knew what he was going because when I passed him he was laughing. It was plenty obvious that he knew he was screwing everyone over. He went out of his way a few times to slow down when the driver in the right hand lane slowed down.

i spend so much time on this stretch that I am pretty familiar with driver tendencies in certain areas and I totally understand when safety is concerned and I appreciate the drivers that do slow down in those spots. I know what I saw. Even other truck drivers appeared to be angry with to is guy.

Douchebag drivers are in all sizes of vehicles. What if he had been in a Prius instead of a semi? Would that make it better or give you more options?

Drive enough and you will get behind them more often. Your best bet is to let it go and enjoy the scenery. Or tune in some talk radio. Better yet, take an exit and get some coffee or take a leak.

You're clearly not going to get even with him so get over it.

I can see one idiot driver. They come in all shape and sizes.

What I don't understand here is you say he was doing 45 mph but you said the speed limit was 60. Yet for him to run side by side with another truck that truck had to also be running 45. Sorry but I can't see two trucks running 15 below the speed limit unless 45 was the actual speed limit which is normal for construction zones.

I've run up and down that road hundreds of times and if you don't run 70-75 you'll get your butt run over. Looks like the driver was having a bad day and wanted everyone else to at the same time......
