Trying to figure out how to go about making a solid business plan to get loan for truck and commercial line of credit. I am thinking of own authority and maybe trying for work through gavilon or maybe just load boards.
How do I go about getting a company to agree to give me work if I buy a truck and lease on to them ?
Is it just like applying for a job ?

If you are going to lease onto a company simply fill out an application, should they approve you ask them for a letter of intent, you bring that to the bank along with your business plan.

For your own authority just bring a very detailed business plan to the bank.

Try Farm2Fleet.com They can probably work with you on a lease agreement.

www.OOIDA.com can probably give you some guidance also.

I have been reading up on it . I want to make sure I get it right . Want truck trailer and a line of credit . My bank would loan me on equipment for sure but does not do commercial line of credit so I have to deal with unknown bank . I have decided this is what i need to do . will take every dime I own plus a loan on my truck to get enough money for own authority and down payment . Credit cards will buy my fuel and suck for a while but break downs will have to be credit line . If I screw up then I am screed but I can not just drive around making 110 a day for the guy I work for now . Far far less than what I am used to .
One thing , Paschal told me my regional experience would satisfy their otr requirement and they have a nice operation and a nice lease to own plan . I might go for that if buying does not pan out .

You can use credit to an extent for repairs. Why not lease on to somebody, who gives you a fuel card and weekly settlements for four or six months? That could be quicker transition than getting your own mc number. I don't like making a 110 a day either or 150 for that fact.

Line of credit, personal loan. If you have a house you can do a line of credit against it.

I looked around a bit bit most good places sem to require a lot of otr exp. Really would rather do a more local type hauling If I can find it. I think gavilon in wichita has plenty of work on a more local level but was told theyrequire OA .
Got a reply on here one time from guy who bought truck from ireland sales and got line of credit rigjt down street at bank . Might try them . I think only one bank close to them.

nope. but I have enough down to buy a truck i found for 31K rebuilt engine 340K on it KW big sleeper , from a reputable truck trailer repair shop. I am thinking a loan on my pick up for 5K and I would be good to go if I can only figure out how to write up a good business plan and where and how to get the loads to put in plan to show I can make money to pay for the truck .
I was coming home today and had no load . I stopped at several coops and asked about anywhere i could get one so I did not have to come 275 miles empty . All told me I had to have my broker do the deal . . So how do O/O get loads with out going through a broker ? This is grain hopper stuff. I know they do it because I have talked to some that find their own loads but everywhere I go they want a load number from broker .
