How to send money home

hello all!

I’ll be starting with my mentor with PAM within the week. Yes, PAM, I know, let’s just leave it with that!

For my dwell pay, I had to use a comcheck go get my money, as my paycard wont activate until I’m on the road.

From talking to payroll (that was...an interesting experience in futility) I can’t set direct deposit up until I’m on the road.

We are broke until we start getting paid. Like literally living with family broke.

If I get paid next week, and it’s not direct deposit, what is the cheapest, most effective way to get the money home?

I mean, we have a PNC bank account, but I hardly expect my mentor to take me to my bank to make a deposit. Payroll says I can get comchecks at truck stops...would I get one of those, fill it out to my wife, then send it home?

We are getting really anxious and need ideas!

So she would just have to call with my driver info and they will give her all the info correct?

Is there any “normal” place to get comchecks before I hit the road?

 

Evidently my pay will go on a pay/fuel card, so obviously I have to keep that with me.

Once I’m in the truck, I can set up direct deposit to my bank account, but I assume like most places that won’t be instantaneous.

 

Card was set up, but it’s currently locked until I’m on the road. These folks are not making it easy/convenient to set my family up to actually get their pay!
