My trucks I bought rides like crap bobtail and there's some vibrations and I'm pretty sure the ride height is off. I was told it needs to be set a 2 and 5/8 inches but can somebody one explain to me where I measure that from?
How to set ride height on a 2001 FLd 120

You measure from the bumpstop to the bottom of frame.
There's different measurements for the different way the saddle is attached to the axle, but my manual is from 1996 so maybe they were all the same by 2000.
On mine I get slightly different measurements at each so I average it out.xsetra Thanks this. -

So from the bump stop on the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame? Any idea what that measurement should be?

my experience is the air bags should be low as possible for the best ride. not too low where the back end is lower than the front or there is a vibration from the bags being too low. if my air bags are about 1/2 way aired up the truck bounces like crazy, let some air out & the ride is so much more better. have to plat around to get it just where I like it.

You should be able to go as low as 2 3/8 without any driveline issues. Easiest way is make a cardboard template,I think measurement is at left front bump stop.
xsetra Thanks this.
