I am going this weekend to try and get my cdl. I have driven 10 spds a few times and a 13 spd a few. However the truck I will be testing on is a 9 spd. I know what gear to be in by using the speedometer in a 10spd. But I'm not sure about the 9. Any Info would be great.

A nine speed is not that much different than a ten speed. The only difference is that the low (or sometimes first) gear position is not used in high range. So when you get ready to go from high range instead of moving the stick all the way over to you and down, you are going to go in the position that is the one next to reverse (which would be seventh in a ten speed). Hope this helps!!

Since you've already driven a 13 spd a nine speed is the same thing, you're just not splitting gears in high range. As far as the road speed where you change gears, its just trial and error.

    Granny-1-2-3-4 flip 1-2-3-4

A 9 speed is an 8 speed plus a granny gear.
