yeah I would say reefer and having your Haz-mat, too. As you can always do dry van with a reefer trailer if needed.

From a company driver experience; reefer drivers should have hazmat endorsement, otherwise, you're limiting yourself as to loads you can be dispatched on.
For example, you unload produce, then call dispatcher for your next load. You're given a choice of laying over and hoping for something tomorrow or leave right now with a load of paint that's listed as hazmat load.
