On hazmat. Even coca cola concentrate is a hazmat load. It's caustic.
They will do dry van loads with reefer, just to keep it warm. I've done it. Temp set at 45f.
Otherwise the job I mentioned. It does do both. Always dropping and hooking. Every run.

I admit. Flatbed. You get the experience. Work into heavy haul. Especially getting into blade running. We're talking 300 to 400K a year as a company driver. But you don't have a life. It is not a career. It's something to do for a few years until you can't take it anymore.

Don't lock yourself in to anything. That CDL is golden. Keep your eyes open. There will be opportunities opening up.

I'm definitely interested. I'm not locked in to any one thing. I just want to always be setting myself up to move forward.

It doesnt matter what you do if you live beyond your means, recession or not. So step 1 is learn to be frugal and live within your budget. That means suffering and denying our wants when necessary.

Yes but employers Will really begin to play games with truck drivers who are already existing with their company because they know there’s a pool of new drivers waiting to take their jobs. While it’s true reefer drivers will have a better than most, they can still expect to pay cuts, dispatchers pushing them around, less days off, you name it. All the stuff we complain about will be magnified because of the current environment. It won’t be long before pay per mile starts coming down as well. There could be 500,000-1 million truckers looking for work in 3-6 months from now!

The recession is going to happen.

We saw the market make its hardest drop since 1933 due to the virus scare. There was a partial rebound last week.

Next week I think when the economic report gets released all those unemployment numbers are going to come home to roost.

There will be another round of selling and another dip. Unemployment numbers seem to scare people out of the market for longer.

I'm no financial expert and I havent been involved in market news for that long. But to me its looking like that recession we knew was on the horizon is going to kick off here soon. Maybe this week or next? Just a guess.
