how to tell a good company from a bad one in just a few minutes..

I would have to drive local if using an E-LOG...I need the flexiblility of the paper logs to maintain my sanity.

 

In the last 4 years since my hand was forced on e-logs, there's only been 2 times where I've had a "flexibility" issue. You came out the box saying "e-logs are for losers" and blah blah blah. I don't need them. I used to run my balls off without them, 5-6000 mile weeks as a solo driver. But you know what? I don't miss that. I run my 11 hours and take my ten hour break and life is good. I can still run 700+ miles a day. I can still run 4200+ miles a week. And my logs aren't wrong and DOT doesn't hassle me and I sleep like a baby. I honestly never want a paper log again. The stress and hassle of paper logs is gone and good riddance.

 

I run on e-logs, rarely break 400 miles driving in a day, and still bank a nice check at the end of the week. E-logs ain't fer losers. As I've stated before, the drivers who diss the e-log either haven't used it or can't plan their day.

 

If the driver shortage was REALLY bad, instead of hiring slimy used sales guys to be recruiters they hired sexy models/strippers, it might turn my head.

(But of course they all work in pharmaceutical sales, wink wink)

 

700 miles a day you got to learn how to work kid.

 

When they claim to be the best in the entire industry, time to walk away.

 

Both FedEx & ups are in the paper every single week around here.

So are multiple contractors with them.

Its pretty entertaining.

HELP!!!!!

 

A few years ago my outfit switched over to e-logs and everyone started whining, and moaning. Fast forward to today and you can hear drivers complain because a rented truck doesn't have a qualcomm and they have to do a paper log.
Drawing straight lines on a little booklet like an 8 year old is for the birds. I cringe to think that I used to do that for years.

 

I ask two questions.Is your trucks governed under 70 and do you run e logs?If the answer is yes to either then thats a bad company. I can make money just about anywhere and dont need to be micromanaged i turned down a job hauling tires making 120,000 a year money isnt everything but freedom is.

 

Companies that offer big signing bonus. If it was a good job, they don't have to pay signing bonuses.

Most any 1099 job.

Companies that use a lot of Penske or Ryder trucks. They have no skin in the game. Always thought they attracted inspections, too.
