we have two ex walmart internationals with the isx we have replaced the turbo on one twice one exploded and engine had to be choked with a sleeping back because it was running on engine oil luckily we only had to replace the CAC and the turbo and truck has been running fine. The other time it started making a whistling noise during shifts and had too much play on the shaft. My uncle paid $2000 exchange from frontier in Michigan and i think that was a great price

Than you're not buying a Cummins Reman turbo, yet you complain when the cheap reman turbo you bought explodes shortly after you have installed it. Now I understand why you're #####in' and you give me a hard time and call me an Ahole for not giving you a supposed part number for a turbo that no manufacturer builds to replace it. I guess the price of removing the VG Turbo was enough for you to not give me a hard time anymore, but not enough for you to apologize for calling me an Ahole.

Why woulds you even recommend your $1500 rebuilt junk turbo to some one else if it won't last on your engine for more than a week? Great idea

Everybody expects me to be Mr. Nice Guy and give away all my part numbers, when I don't do it I'm an Ahole. But nobody gives me anything for the hours I spend on the phone giving advise on how to fix something.

This is supposed to be my reward...........yeah I'm an Ahole

I need a career change for sure

If this person can believe that his turbo can effect his tire wear then anything he says should not be taken seriously................

Have to agree with you! Mr Haney is practically useless to me so don't think I'm taking sides cos it will benefit me in some way! But i have to stand up for the man, I've seen him give his free time and give free advice, in my opinion a nice man to take the time, 'fair play' as we say here, it seems to me he's made a business outa being good at what he does and being on hand for guys that need advice! That's what the industry needs more of!!

Kinda changing the subject here, but before condemning the turbo, I stopped by my cummins dealer to have the cac pressure tested. It failed, couldn't get it up to 30psi. So the turbo was able to keep up, but that's probably where the noise was coming from. So I have a new Duralite to put in there. Hopefully the turbo can hang in there. I appreciate all the advice on here. And I do appreciate Mr. Haney, all his knowledge and willingness to share it.

maybe you like to show me where i call you an ahole. AND MEANT IT.

cuz my comment was meant with humor.

now, explain to me how a dealer or cummins turbo for 3000 is any different then a 1500 dollar rebuilt. becuae you pay for a $500 core charge. which means they take those and rebuilt them. otherwise there wouldn't be a core charge and you could keep your old turbo.

and it's probably holset rebuilding there own turbos.

what's the difference between holset and a local shop rebuilding. they use the same parts by the same supplier using the same housing. and the guy could have worked for holset or cummins for all i know.

i used to be a mechanic. i can rebuild starters, alternators, and carbs. you gonna tell me that my work is no good. cuz i can do the same job that autozone does. and sell the same rebuilt quality. but i rebuild from my own back yard. and not from mexico. or would people be better off paying high prices for brand new parts from the dealer.

but we're talking about turbos. the same turbos from cummins that are rebuilt and cost 3g compared to a local shop that can do THE EXACT SAME JOB FOR HALF PRICE.

and don't ask me to explain it. my odometer is more accurate and my tires aren't wearing like an alighment issue. so somehow there's a torque issue that got solved with a properly functioning turbo. STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED.

now you all owe me an apology. cuz i didn't knock ANY OF YOU down. nor did i BADMOUTH ANY OF YOU OR MR. HAINEY.

don't get mad at me if UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU take my statements THE WRONG WAY.
