It's better to get tested on your own. That's what I did before I even started driving a truck. I found out that I have it. I would nod off at a long red light. I have more energy since I started using the cpap.

Well I finally got it in check. And believe it or not, all I did was add in walking more, and bought a new mattress. I got a 2200$ mattress for 300$ because there was a tear in it. Well I looked a little closer and saw it was only the cover or whatever on it. So I snagged it and man, what a difference. I wake up feeling like someone injected me with a barrel of redbull

Depends on what you get, I started out with a nose pillow and didn't work, so I have a face mask that goes over nose and mouth which allows you to breathe through either. Snoring is usually caused by your soft palate collapsing into your air way, the C-Pap or Bi-Pap provided positive pressure to your airway keeping the soft palate open and out of the airway, reducing snoring. Mine has a ramp feature, so it starts out at a lower pressure until you fall asleep then it gradually "RAMPS UP" to the set pressures and keeps the air ways open

The place I got my CPAP machine from says its not a weight issue. Its a neck muscle issue. What happens is while sleeping the muscles relax and collapses the windpipe and the machine helps keep the windpipe open. He told me that he has an older woman that is like 5'2 and 100 pounds and her machine runs at close to 20cmH2O but yet there is me 33, 6'4 360 pounds and only need 4-5cmH2O from the machine. I just chalk it up to Im a high performance sleeper and need boost to get sleep.

Actually people with SEVERE apnea need LOWER Pressures, people with moderate need higher, I'm 6'2 about 280, and neck muscles have very little to do with your airway.

That's interesting. I've never really had much of a sleeping problem. I'm definitely gonna pass this along to my co driver though lol.

I'm on Bi-pap also, this guy is one of those sleep tech and he seems to have real good info on sleep apnea and he also tells you how Insurance company kinda scam people I to getting the wrong CPAP machine. He also now has home sleep apnea test for trucks and it like $500 for the test you do in you home. It as good as a sleep lab.
