I just purchased a semi truck in Texas. I'm trying to get it to my house this week in Memphis, TN. I will be taking it to orientation in 2 weeks which is back in Texas. My truck is sitting at a truck stop in texas. All I have is the title, 2290 paid, & bill of sale. What do I need to do to bobtail home and back?

    TruckRunner Thanks this.

Alright, were would I get the permits from?

  5. Either at weighstations as you enter or go-to the local DMV in that state .

Possible to do some online and I say possible, not always probable

Interesting I just bought a truck in Dallas and live in Nashville. I had my temp tag on the windshield, permits, my ELD, and my bobtail insurance so I was good to go. Every weigh station was closed and only saw one police car the entire trip.

I'm picking up my new truck and trailer in Las Vegas tomorrow and driving it home to California. Hopefully the dealer did their job and has everything done correctly.

I know it takes Arizona about 3 days to do a registration. Insurance is minutes.

Guess you paid cash for the truck? No dealer gonna let you budge it without insurance.
