How to uncouple a trailer... for dummies

Knight didn’t believe in air dump on their trucks.

 

I would bet that dump valves and trolley brakes are 2 items left off of most tractors in large fleets. The number of those drivers who use both incorrectly, going merrily down the road with the suspension in the lowered(dump) mode destroying the entire driveline, and then slowing an 80K truck on dry pavement and flat spotting the tires was way more than their fleet maintenance departments could stomach.

 

Common for the mega fleets. Big ole' Marten Transport didn't have an air dump on their Trucks.

 

Or if they still have it there's no applying 10-15 it's either 0 or full on lock em up Lol

 

With a loaded pneumatic it was 25 low gear turns once the legs made contact with the ground.

 

I drove for 36 years and never "had" to use a Johnny bar, did I, yes on occasion or pretriping or hooking a set.

 

Pulling someone else's wagon Lol gets used all the time. Why use my drums

 

My 2020 Cascadia doesn't have an air dump. I hate it!!

 

Yeah, no Johnny bar on marten trucks either.

 

If only it were that simple..
