You folks would cry to have to break up a spring ride tractor.
Dale thompson, D.Tibbitt, Brettj3876 and 4 others Thank this. -
Thanks for bringing back painful memories. We had a yard truck once that was an old international day cab hack job (I think it actually was a straight truck originally), it had spring ride and a higher than usual 5th wheel. That thing could be a real pita.D.Tibbitt, Brettj3876, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

What's landing gear?

Dale thompson, Isafarmboy, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
Just all the squeaks, creaks, thumps, and cracks that the spring ride makes when trying to lift under a trailer will scare the younger guys.

Or going around a corner. LolD.Tibbitt, 650cat425 and SmallPackage Thank this. -
I usually roll the gear down till it just barely touches the ground lightly. If it’s loaded I’ll dump the bags till I can slide out from under in easy in 1st. If it’s empty no big deal. You just don’t want to leave a loaded trailer dropped too low is the big no-no. Makes it hard to get back under for the next guy without having to get rough with it. That plate doesn’t want to slide across the bottom the trailer if there is too much pin weight on it.
