The only weight legality wise is 80 or what ever you may have a permit for, if you scale 78k, and hit a dot scale at 81, you are still getting a ticket, only difference is like a cat scale they will fight the ticket for you, it may be a customer requirement but not law

Depends on the states. Some allow extra weight. Depending on your axles configuration.
On the west coast anyways.
And then there's some on the east hauling more weight per axle then the west allows.
4 axle dumps are hauling more weight on the east. Where as the west requires more axles to haul the same weight.
It's possible to haul more. If the state allows. -
here in ma I’m good for 99k reducible on 5 and 130k non reducible on 6, a regular Tri axle is legal for 77k, add in the 6% for “not having a scale ticket” and you can come in just under 81ksnowwy Thanks this.

Boy we would have been in trouble with these new drivers 30 years ago, lots of platform scales and no instructions posted.
Jubal Early Times, Hammer166, Kyle G. and 2 others Thank this. -
That'd work fine on a normal scale I guess what hes saying is it won't allow you to do that, the only other way would be to go around three times get the steer weight, do a loop get the tractor weight, then another loop and get the total weight.

There wasn't any instructions on how to close your doors either.

How many of today’s new drivers can fold up a paper map?
My guess is 1 out of 100. -
How many guys still use a paper map?
