I have three cats: a large sized, a medium sized, and a small sized. Combined, they'd make roughtly 50 lbs, LOL (a common maximum allowable weight, I've noticed). Only the large one would roam around and be sociable while the rig is in motion. The other two will most probably be sleeping hidden away somewhere, especially if if there are other people around (they hide away in my apartment, too). I've driven with all three in my car a few times before (unhabitually), so I believe their behaviors will be predictable and they will just become accustomed -- they did not mishandle the car rides; the most inconvenient was the medium sized meowed.
To be clear: I'm not asking which companies have pet policies, but I am asking for tips on how to get all three on-board for OTR with "no experience" once I've completed CDL School.
The two companies that I found apparently allows 2 pets -- one requires team-driving (Quest Global), and the other requires 2 years OTR experience with 1 year of flatbed (P&S Transportation). Covenant apparently allows a combined max weight, but I was warned to stay away from that company.
I saw in a thread someone advising to not lie about having pets, in case of layovers and the hotel/motel doesn't allow pets -- and a friend of mine who is also a trucker (now local) told me to lie about the actual number of cats. And I've also seen another forum make a reference to a team having 4 dogs with a mention of the multiple-cats lady.... So I'm thinking it's somehow manageable to pull off, just not so immediately apparent how.
Also -- I'm preferably looking to flatbed...though it seems the more lenient companies are reefers? Flatbed the first choice because I'm looking to be physically active on the job, rather than just on my breaks.
NO. Before anyone asks, I will *not* be separating or ridding my feline children. They're family.
So -- anybody able to help me out with what I seek?!
How to, with 3 cats?

Good luck with this one.
Stay local is all I got.
Dump trucks garbage trucks concrete trucks merchandiser gigs/grocery beverage companies. Can get hired out of school.
Otr isn't your only option.Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
Um...you may want to reconsider. Only reason I say this is that there is quite a bit difference from a car to a semi. The engine is way louder and when bumping a dock you will sometimes hit the building hard which could throw them or scare them.

Are they leash friendly? There will be times your truck is being worked on and the doors open for an extended period of time. Will the stay put or jump out to escape mechanic who is strange to them?
I'm thinking local/regional until you can buy you own truck and turn it into a kitty haven.
Btw unless you team with someone you know and would want to ride with cats, you would need a solo gig. You also will need a place for them to live while you're away. For 6weeks training.CrappieJunkie Thanks this. -

Sounds like a convoy reboot episode.
Ugggg they need to bring that show back.Dave_in_AZ, bzinger and cnsper Thank this. -
You may want to take them on a short trip in a semi before committing their lives to living in a sleeper cab.
Trucks have a constant vibration and engine noise. Who knows how they'll react to this?
The first truck you get may have a lot of miles and might break down several times while you are far away from a hotel, AC, or even food service. A dog you can leash it with you to a safe place. One cat, you could stuff in a carrier and get on down the road with your feet. Three cats might be a challenge getting to a cool, safe place.
Just some stuff to think about.gdyupgal and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Pets are going to be a problem, Sassy. Problems have solutions, but it's not going to be easy, both finding an outfit that'll be OK with 3 animals in a moving truck, and dealing with the cats upkeep. Best.
SassyChris and bzinger Thank this. -
I'm probably the biggest cat person on TTR, and I wouldn't let you on the truck with three, especially during your training period.
@Chinatown
I think Covenant will let you take a (1) cat during your training. Chinatown is the guru. Although there is a decidedly low cat population near his residence.
You probably need to get a friend to foster them while you do your training.
I've taken two. Cats, not students, you'll find when you get in the mountains, going over summits, there will be meowing, the air pressure change messes with their ears.Metallica88, gdyupgal, alghazi and 7 others Thank this. -
They taste like chicken................
