I've read the ad's, did the reserach online and all but just wanted to hear from other O/O's at J B on how well they do, especially with the new load board going.

we get emails all the time for power only stuff in the northeast. says avg 2.00/mi, no thanks if i wanted a headache id bash my head into a wall 1st. On the other hand company drivers in my area running local are doing 1200-1300+ a week. Not a bad gig at all for a company guy

It was a lot better right up until October when it seems rates dropped. Lately making about $1.80 a loaded mile with load board open to public. Competition to get good back to backs is stiff. I like JB but have been a bit disgruntled. I was on their top 20 mileage list until they opened that board up. But if you can get the runs you can still gross 4 grand. But that's gross.

That's what I was wondering, UturnGirl. I've seen several YouTube videos of other O/O's that aren't leased to J B talking about the load board being a good source but haven't heard a lot from actual J B folks.
Are the FM's involved in securing loads or not? I leave for orientation in a few days but am trying to get a good idea of how things are doing so I know how to plan on running once I leave there.

Before the load board we got computer generated recommended loads from which we could choose or if we hated them all ask fm to find one. Now not so much. Maybe you can work the board better than I but I would try to keep unpaid empty miles down and book back to backs but with so many drivers as well as independents hitting that board the good stuff gets snapped up fast. They need to fix that situation. But of course at first during the honeymoon phase your fm will give you the best goodies. Maybe by then they will see what that open board is doing to drivers.

Appreciate the info. Haven't worked a load board in a while, but hope to learn fast...

    Well... UPDATE time...
Been sitting at the house due to NO empty trailers availble. Left oreintationlast THURSDAY and have been sitting since. My CC left me hanging... and as for the load board, it might be great but cannot access it half of the time from the Drive app and NONE from the myjbhunt.com site... so even if I had an empty, can't see what loads are out there...
Not real happy with waythings are starting out at JB...

That's crazy. JB has tons of trailers. Your manager is messing up badly. Confrontation time.

UTurnGirl, I had to go above my CC, above his manager to get anything done. I've been sitting here a whole week since I left Louisville, KY without any reliable access to the load board. They finally found me an mt, but if I can't see what loads are availble...
Plus after being yanked around like I have these past days, I wouldn't trust those idgits to find me a load for anything.
