For some individuals, 36 cents per mile could be manna from heaven. One cannot blame an individual for needing a job and settling for less than someone else earning more, for doing the same job.
Employers know this and use this situation to their advantage. As for the employee settling for less money, it is better than no money at all.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Im not happy unless I'm getting at least $300 a day, $1800 a week. If i get paid less than that my performance suffers and I start looking at other options, because Ive made it consistantly at a mega swinging doors, no reason anything specialized or hands on shouldn't pay me as much if not more.

When I was swinging doors, yeah.

Now I haul flatbed and lowboys, I guess you could consider it regional with some cross country runs.

Percentage of the gross, with rate con that stipulates no less than 70 per hour for detention after 1st hour, 300 per day layover, and 150 for truck ordered not used plus 1.50 per mile driven before the load was cancelled, plus all time detained and and...

Give me 35%. Do that and give me 33 percent of my income as non taxable per diem and you’ll have a lifelong company driver.

I am starting to hear companies paying for stops. Is this becoming the norm? One pays $40 while you wait for unload (Not sure how long any of these will actually take), and another $53. So if you are getting, 40 cents a mile that's 1.5 to 2 hours of driving. The only negative I see is if you are missing a mileage bonus.
