At all deliveries I have a lot of waiting time. Mostly it is about 30h wait to load and and after delivery I have to wait again one or two days to get the next trip. I would like to take a bicycle.

How does it fit into the cab, or how is it possible to attach it outside?.
I would be happy about every idea.

    Thank you.

a 26" mountain bike should fit in top bunk if you have a condo. i've done it before. Quick release front hub should make it easier. Put a tarp or old blanket that you dont care about so you wont get the mattress all greasy.

This is one of the few good things about a condo.

HM, I like the idea of Peralta. I think I look for a bike like this. When it fits in the upper bed, then it is OK and I am happy.
I like much more the idea to run the hours dead and shout the truck down near "home town". HMF, I have no idea how to tell the dispatcher. I think I make this for an other month or so, and enjoy a few cities. HM, then it was a short career. I need my home time. The value of this is much more.

Either top bunk, on the front bumper, or strapped to the back deck.

The other thing about the top bunk is you should strap it down. Because if you have to stop suddenly this could be problematic.

Ok, now that i read your posts again i'm understanding a little clearer; i'm not saying you should get a mountain bike nessesarily----that's just what i have. A touring/racing bike might fit even better because the handlebars are narrower.

If you take the front wheel off, a moutain bike has narrower handlebars than a touring bike, when you turn the handlebars sideways, then the widest part is the peddles.

If you take both wheels and peddles off, you can use a bike case.

"Your bike gets lonely when you're gone. Grab a bike case, and take it with you. This case is packin' enough room to store, carry and ship almost any bike, and the reinforced shell with padded interior means you won't have to worry about what your bike will look like when it gets where it's going. You're right! Duh.

Still it might be easier to move in and out of the truck with touring/"rams head" type handle bars?

My Cannondale was set up with quick release front/rear rims and a quick release seat this bike could fit in a car trunk so top bunk shouldn't be a problem...

a travel bag for bikes would keep your bunk cleaner, like an airline bag for bikes is what I'm thinking or something similar..

    yes, a headache !!
