A big howdy to y'all from Texas! I'm going through International Schools right now and I'm hunting for companies... They job placement system seems to be pretty good through the school but I have a problem and it's got me a little worried. I'm 21 now but I got into some
pretty serious trouble as a teenager....
I don't have to declare a felony on a job app but I am still on parole and frankly I want to be honest with any company that I work for. I made a stupid mistake (Not a sex, theft, or drug crime) as a kid and I certainly learned from it. I just need a chance to prove myself!!!
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that would limit me as to which companies would hire me being brand spanking new and on parole... I understand that Swift will consider me, are there any other OTR companies that I stand a chance with?
I don't have any family left but my Dad and Grandpa on my Mom's side were truckers and I have diesel in my veins!!! LOL Look foward to meeting all y'all and who knows? Maybe Ill see you around!

I can appreciate that Big Rigger, I don't want to lie to anybody. Not because I may or may not get caught, but because it isn't the right thing to do...
Baack Thanks this. -

Parole for a misdemeanor? You sure? 7 years later?
-
No, it was a felony but I was a juvenile so I wasn't convicted, I was adjudicated as a minor. I went through the youth system but I'm
still on parole as an adult. I still retain the right to vote and I can legally answer no on a felony conviction but I'm sure my status on parole will have an impact on who would hire me. -
J/K. Best of luck, and keep us posted. -
You're going to have to beat the bushes out there because you're going to find out it's hard. Just common sense tells you if a company has an application from two drivers and one is clean and the other has a mark who do you think they'll hire? So it would be better for you to go out to any company that has trucks. Face to face explanations are always best and you never know you might just walk into a good job.
Texas_Tree_Shaker Thanks this.
