Yeap the solo guys for sure. A lot of bid guys would get cancelled once a week, and the extra board guys would work 2-3 days a week, basically calling in everyday begging for work.

My co-driver is hopping off the team truck and going extra board solo next week. Though she'll have her work/life balance back how she likes, I don't think she understands how much less she'll make yet.

I give her 3 months before she's begging to hop back on the team truck with me, but she'll have to wait a full 12 months until we re-bid.

I don’t think OD is the only company hurting for work.

We're slow in some spots. Our big rate increase prolly helped that out. We have 5 Linehaul runs and a extraboard guy. We haven't been rotating off due to someone out on FMLA but I think they weren't off we would be rotating. Couple runs they have cut a leg off multiple times a week cutting the bid from 546 to 502. I guess it's kind of hit or miss.

I amazed reading about it being slow everywhere when I just had my third 12-hour day in a row.

Even food service is slow, I look at everyone’s hiring website out of boredom I think od only has 30 driver positions natonwide and who knows how many of those listed positions they are actually hiring for same for all ltl and even food service
My company always had been hiring nationwide for the 10 years I been here and when I looked yesterday we only have a handful of positions listed

I’m always reading about stem majors who graduated with math and computer science majors who can’t even find a job at Starbucks right now

middle class is being decimated for sure not gonna lie it’s starting to get a little scary and I have savings to float me for 2 years without having to work that entire time but I know most aren’t in that position

Like @MACK E-6 I’ve been pulling multiple 12hr days in a row. Our other freight has had some slow downs, but my route has been keeping me hopping.

The last 2wks I’ve only had one day that’s hasn’t been under 12hrs. I’m not complaining at all.
