Older newbie here seriously considering signing on with SNI. Applied for the Overtheroad position (living in southern Cali) and the recruiter told me the 11 western is their OTR position.. Hmmm... ok that's cool .. I thought to myself, just want to get to work and get moving.. Sooo just curious if anyone knows hows the freight moving in the 11 western, wondering if will be starting this when things are moving steady or in a low and slow period? Thanks!
I work part time, 3/4 time, doing Western 11, have not sat for a day in the last couple years. I stay out for a couple weeks, take some time off, out for a couple weeks, take some time off, miles have been decent.
buddybaker.... are you doing that out for 2 wks and home for 1wk ? I'm looking for some thing like that. Do you get a diffrent tuck every time you go out? Or hows that work?
Did the Home Run for awhile, worked out good when the other 2 Drivers kept the Trucks clean like I do then 1 of the Drivers got hurt and someone new came in, keept things less clean. I am now considered Part Time, make up my own schedule, stay out 2 or 3 weeks then take a week or two off, in the last couple months have worked 4 weeks and had 3 off. Anytime you are off more than 4 days you will have to clean out the Truck you are Driving and they will get you in the same one or sometimes different one when you come back. SNI has treated me very well and are always willing to work with me, have been very lucky. Not just me but, if you Deliver on time and take all Loads they give you, everything works out.
Buddybaker, That is good information and good to know! I especially like how they work with you and looks like they have a lot of different types of positions that may be available to try out in future. Waiting to hear from the recruiter and maybe will be seeing you out there sometime. Myself I am hoping to run as full-time as possible for a few years. Good luck with your part time plan, sounds like that will be a good thing for you. Thanks again!
I am 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Just finished my first set and I have been preety busy... Only one time I had to sit and wait for an hour for new orders due to the customer unloading it in 15 minutes when we calculated 2 hours...))))))))
That is Good LL, Thanks for the info. I to should be out there running in a few weeks myself. As soon as Schneider finishes checking my drug screens etc.. schedule to be in orientation on the 26th, OCT. Just dawned on me, with the holidays coming we should be pretty busy next few months.
Can you name some primary cities on the western 11? Im about 150plus miles from the yard in Stockton so if I run a 2 week on 2 off schedule can I take the truck home???
I am about 80 miles from my home OC in Fontana and they won't let me take the truck home from what I understand.. Not sure about major cities ?? do you mean the SNI terminals in the 11 Western? or where we deliver? I am not sure about our delivery area in 11 Western tho.... went up to Portland, OR. couple times and by choice have been over the road out in south east and central USA ever sense I started. Some of the other guys or gals here will probably know more about that.. Good Luck with it all!
