HP2000 APU not the one! Going with THERMO KING.

I've heard that the HP2000 is a piece of junk, to put it lightly. I've never used one, but after all the negative comments on here and on other sites, I don't think I'd want one. And I have a question for Parks Industries: if their wanna-be APU is so great, how come there aren't hundreds or thousands of these things running around. Consider the fact that there are over 100,000 TriPacs on the road running strong, why would anyone want anything else? TriPac is #1 all the way!

 

None is perfect....the so called tripak evolution has a very rough start at temps under 20F, and the smoke that is making in those first 20 seconds is something that needs to be seen to believe....after that all other startups are nice almost no smoke.....dealer has no answer yet((detroit.mi)) for it

 

I HATE those Evolutions! They are loud, have a horribly designed control panel, and they're just plain ugly. I would take an old style TriPac any day over those abominations. They are a blatant disgrace to the TriPacs as a whole. They shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves TriPacs!

 

Noise imo is the same, they got a simpler panel design for everybody to understand, AC/heat command car type i guess,,,, less trouble pushing and adjusting temp buttons for tired drivers .....

Main problem is cold temp startups.....hope tk will find the cure

 

Sorry, but those horrible knobs on the Evolutions are just stupid. I never like those kind of things in cars either. That was definately not an improvement to me.

 

NOW TRUCKEES i NEED A PLACE THAT SERVICE THE FRIGETTE APU IN HOT FLORIDA OR GA. i HATE GOING TO FT WORTH TX JUST TO DO THAT help

 

I wonder why people buy third-tier unknown devices then asking forum where to fix that cr%p.

 

Agree with the post HP 2000 has been nothing but a problem I was not lucky enough to get my money back have had problems from day one! Pouring fuel out a hour after install,exhaust fell off the first week,overheating,failure to start,and now they will not warranty any thing and it is only 5 months old.So I am making payments on a 400lbs. box that hangs on the side of my truck and doesn't work.But I will be sure to show up at all the Truck shows and anything else to advertise how well this POS works.Also the last time it was in the shop I had my dash cam going and video some interesting stuff If anyone would like to hear how Parks Industries treats there customers Just ask.

 

I have a list of unhappy HP 2000 owners and its funny that we all have pretty much the same issues with this thing.Hmmm 20 people so far.And everyone I have talked to have said QUOTE I would not buy another one or refer them.One thing they failed to do was just be fair but I guess after the check is wrote they could care less.But I am a true believer in Karma.

 

HP2000 is def junk. Never heard anything good about them. TK is expensive and not sure how the new Evolution is holding up. Saw Dynasys at MATS this year. they switched to CAT engines. They had two units on display. One had a generator setup and the other did not. Salesman said the new one has an auto AC system with double the cooling.

Anybody running a dynasys with a CAT or have this new system? How much? All that good stuff? Not sure what Carrier is doing this year.
