The bigger question would be where can you get it worked on, how good is the warranty and do they stock parts? Time is money.

very true i found out not every dealer on there site sells or even installs em. i guess there only on there site because they used the perkins engines were used for other things from what the dealer told me. i'm not liking this unit atleast with a tri pak you can be somewhere and get it fixed. the hp2000 warranty is 2 yrs 3000 hrs but its usless if you can't get it fixed!! and time is money there not gonna acomidate for you loosing money

I realize this post comes about a year late for the people above, but this is worth addressing for those currently reading this thread. The list on the hp2000's website IS accurate in that all of the locations listed DO service (but not necessarily install) the HP2000. This is because we require a school to be completed at our facility in order to authorize a location to install our APU. Contrary to what is above, we DO honor our 2 year/2000 hour engine warranty at all of the listed locations. In addition, all Speedco locations can perform routine maintenance on our APU. We agree that time is money, that's why we DO have service centers to accommodate our customers.
Sincerely,

I have just committed to buying a HP2000 APU. I was going to start a thread but this one is already there so I will put my experiences here. Right now, I just got off the phone with the people who are going to do the financing. They seemed friendly enough. Like I said, I will put up what ever happens.

Oh why not. It's just money

They are total junk anyway. I hope you didnt buy it. The control units inside regularly go out, AC system never works correctly. Units themselves run terrible and are noisy. Limited dealer/service base to cap it off.
The only APUs that are seemingly worth the trouble are the TK units. And I'm sure as you know they come at a cost. -
I got a call this morning from the owners at the factory in Marion, IL. They seemed very open about their product line. They indicated that the quality of their product before 2014 was a problem do to a subcontractor in Arkansas. I have no idea if that is fact or fiction. I do know that my bank has offered me the same money for 1.5 % interest. So I am going to buy just not sure what kind for sure yet. My Air Conditioning man is in Florida this week so I am going to wait for his return to look over the different units.
I do know that the HP2000 people have a good man in the sales department. So they are still in the running.
