Hello all!
My husband will be going to school (prime) in aug. I have been reading the forum, and it has been helpful! I do have a question, prob a dumb one, but I will ask anyways.
Does he pay for his fuel in his truck, or does the trucking company. Like will 1/2 (or more) of his pay be taken up in fuel.
Hubby is going to cdl school, and I have a question.

Depends. Is he considering being a lease operator or just an employee(company driver). -

If he is a company driver, the company will pay for the fuel in most cases. I'm not sure about Prime but some companies require drivers follow a fuel routing where they have to put in X.XXX gallons of gas at certain gas stations along the way. They also might require the driver keep idle time (time the truck is running without moving) lower than a certain percentage of engine running time. Some companies have a "clawback" that if you over-fuel or over-idle, you have to pay for the excess fuel spent.
