Good evening everyone. New authority here and I just have a question. My husband and I purchased a 2011 kenworth with a lsx motor. It had issues when we bought it, had it fixed but the last shop who touched it seems to have made another issue. Today while heading to a delivery, his oil dumped everywhere. There was a big hole on the crank sensor cover. This cover was removed from the prior shop. They replaced the gearbox and all seals, gaskets etc. We don't think they'll warrantee anything because it wasn't a part they bought. We are waiting until morning to see about getting this repaired. Can this be caused from negligence? The shop was saying maybe the tech used a screwdriver to remove the sensor, thus damaging the cover. We live in Florida, and he's all the way in Massachusetts at advantage dealer. I feel so bad, and we're so fresh into this. We just want to work lol Thanks for any advice!
Hubby is stuck in MA

This is what we fear. Such a shame. They had our truck for 7 weeks too. Ugh. Thanks for replying.

Highway priority is get it fixed at a reasonable cost and get back rolling and making money .
And this won’t be the last time something like that happens .
It’s just part of the business
at least he discovered it before it dumped all the oil and destroyed the engine .OldeSkool, lovesthedrive, clausland and 3 others Thank this. -
At least it’s just the cover. Hopefully it can be fixed without too much labor time, and was just negligence, wasn’t caused by something else inside. I had a Cat Dealer do something similar once, while rebuilding my fuel pump. They denied it, offered to fix it for another $2000. They lost my future Business. Obviously their fault. Won’t hurt to try to contact them, once you have a clearer picture of everything. Last thing you need is a surprise like that. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear your husband blew oil out the hole of his crank. I bet he’s beside himself.

Thanks everyone. They're pulling the driveshaft now to tow it inside the shop. They can replace the cover, but he's going to investigate the area and see if he can get an idea as to what happened. Hopefully nothing was left inside the gear box etc. But that would fall under warranty. Fingers crossed
